Candle Care

Last updated: 5 August 2026

Your SORVANA candle has been created to be enjoyed slowly. A little care will help you experience a cleaner burn, a more even wax pool and the beautiful fragrance your candle was designed to deliver.

Start Strong

Your first burn is the most important one.

Allow the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface before extinguishing the flame. This helps prevent tunnelling and creates a consistent burn throughout the life of your candle.

Depending on the surrounding environment, this usually takes around 2 to 4 hours.

Trim Before Every Burn

Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to approximately 5mm.

A properly trimmed wick helps produce a calmer flame, reduces excess soot and supports a cleaner, longer-lasting burn.

Enjoy Every Burn

For the best performance, we recommend burning your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time.

After extinguishing the flame, allow the wax to cool and fully solidify before lighting it again.

Your candle has an approximate burn time of 48 hours. Actual burn time may vary depending on room conditions, burn duration and how the candle is cared for throughout its life.

Looking After Your Candle

Keep the wax surface free from wick trimmings, matches and any other debris.

Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources when not in use.

If your candle includes a lid, replace it once the wax has completely cooled to help protect the fragrance and keep dust away.

About Your Personalised Label

Every personalised candle is produced especially for your order.

To help keep your label looking its best, avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, oils or direct sunlight.

Minor differences in label positioning are part of the production process and do not affect the quality or performance of your candle.

Knowing When It's Time To Finish

For your safety, stop burning your candle when approximately 10mm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.

Continuing to burn beyond this point may cause the container to become excessively hot.

Simple Candle Safety

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep candles away from children and pets.
  • Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep burning candles away from curtains, fabrics and other flammable materials.
  • Leave at least 10cm between burning candles.
  • Never move a candle while the wax is liquid or the container is hot.
  • Always allow the jar to cool before touching or moving it.
